This charming Kaya weave cloth depicts a peaceful scene of deer playing among the fresh green fields of Wakakusayama, one of Nara’s iconic landscapes. Made from traditional Kaya weave, a Japanese textile craft with roots dating back to before the Nara period, the fabric was originally used for mosquito nets. Its loosely woven structure allows air to pass through while keeping insects out.
